A Dilemma

I love billiards - pool - 8-ball and 9-ball. I've been playing since I was a wee little monkey. It is one of the few things that I would actually say that I'm 'kind of' good at (that, and maybe cooking - but only if I'm inspired). I've played pool most of my life. I have a great cue. I enjoy the game. But... I HATE SMOKE. cigarettes make me sick, give me headaches, and I can't even stand the way I smell after being near them.

My nose is very sensitive - even more so as a non-smoker, so I can tell when I pass someone on the street if they smoke. I can smell a smoker from the car in front of me, which is why my car runs on internal air 90% of the time. It sickens me.

As I type this I have a tied off garbage bag of clothing from the last two nights of shooting pool - and will not open it until it goes in the washing machine.

It sucks. I wish there was a way I could enjoy the game I love, but not have to enjoy it in the smoke-filled dives where it thrives. My contacts got cloudy from all the smoke tonight, and I was only in there for an hour. The light streaming in the windows cast yellow-white beams as thick as marble that moved as people passed between them, but remained, strangely cohesive.

oh, bother.
