My review
rating: 5 of 5 stars
This highly moving and historically accurate book was as informative as it was sad. I could not give higher praise to the translator (the original text is Chinese). The emotional power of this pseudo-auto-biography is a sad discourse on the destruction humans bring to nature. Through the Mongolian wolves Rong manages to show how closely dependent mankind has been on them for both survival and tutelage, even going so far as to point out all of the nations and empires that have been founded and battles won thanks to lesson learned by our Lupine friends.
